130 Years of Heritage….

Hasanpaşa Gazhanesi started to serve in 1892 and has met the lighting and fuel needs of the city for exactly 101 years, and is one of the most important industrial historical heritages of Turkey.

Museum Gazhane is the “living space” focused on culture, art and science, which was brought to Istanbul in 2021 as a result of a long-lasting restoration work of Hasanpaşa Gazhanesi, which is a heritage of 130 years.

Hasanpaşa Gazhanesi, which appears as a synthesis of local heritage with a universal vision, attracts people of all ages with its culture and arts venues, multi-purpose usage areas and activities.

Hasanpaşa Gazhane Museum campus includes Children’s Science Center, Climate Museum, Cartoon and Humor Museum, Gallery Gazhane, Afife Batur Library, Istanbul Bookstore, City Theaters Grand Stage-Meydan Stage, sound/silent study areas. The museum, which draws attention with its green areas, also hosts social spaces such as cafes and restaurants in Gazhane.
